Boston City Lights is a free pre-professional performing arts program for inner city youth. We are an all-volunteer organization that offers intensive training in dance, singing, acting, scene design, graphic arts, theatre and video production. When students are ready, they have the opportunity to perform in both benefit and paid shows, to record their work in our studio, and to learn to teach in our internship positions. City Lights also offers monthly focused two-day training camps in Maine for Boston youth.

The Children's Room provides a safe and caring place and pathway for grieving children, teens and their families with peer support and the guidance of trained volunteers. They enable families to express their grief and adapt to the many changes that accompany death. In particular, they help children recognize that the grieving process is an important part of a normal life transition and ongoing growth and development.

CityKicks was launched in 1999 to enrich the lives of under-served girls in the Boston Public Schools. Providing opportunities for them to experience the joys of playing soccer on a team, CityKicks empowers girls to become the best they can be, in the classroom, on the field, and in their communities. Currently serving 180 girls from 12 Boston middle schools, CityKicks provides year-round programming that promotes positive leadership, teamwork, self-confidence, and healthy decision-making.

The mission of Boston’s Courageous Sailing Center, a self-sustaining educational program, is to provide a fun, safe, accessible environment that promotes positive life skills and values through the sport of sailing. Since 1987, Courageous has served thousands of traditionally underserved Boston area children for free, teaching them how to sail while growing their self-confidence and building their teamwork, leadership and communication skills. Courageous youth programs span three full seasons and include learn-to-sail, racing, cruising/navigation, instructor-in-training, instructor, high school sailing, after school sailing, and environmental education programs.

MetroLacrosse provides free, year-round lacrosse and character education programs to over 500 youth living in Greater Boston’s historically underserved urban communities. Through its character education curriculum that builds upon the lessons learned while participating in team sports, MetroLacrosse highlights the importance of a healthy lifestyle, focuses on developing strong teamwork and communication skills, and aims to teach participants lessons that are transferable to their daily lives. Relying on over 100 trained volunteers and a small full time staff, MetroLacrosse programs encourage youth to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
